A. Surface area where decal is to be applied must be clean, smooth,
and dry. Any dirt, grease, or oil must be removed before applying
decal.
B. Any adhesive residue left from previously applied decals must be
completely removed. If a commercial decal remover is used to clean
adhesive residue, it must be tested on the application surface in
an inconspicuous place, to determine if any damage will result. After
cleaning, dry the surface with a clean, soft rag.
C. Person applying the decal must have clean, dry hands, free of all
dirt, grease, and oil.
D. Using both hands, lightly place decal on desired surface. DO NOT
BOND TIGHT AGAINST SURFACE. Check for correct position, straightness,
etc.
E. Starting at the center of the decal, move hands out towards ends
of decal, using firm pressure to eliminate any “air” pockets
from forming. The use of a clean “damp”, but not wet,
rag or sponge makes it easier to burnish the decal. Smooth out until
all of the decal is firmly bonded.
F. After applying decal, recheck to make sure that all edges are tightly
bonded and that there are no “air” pockets. If decal has
not tightly bonded, go through procedures again, reapplying the decal.
