Quality Control Department

We at Label Source pride ourselves on supplying our customers with the highest quality product possible, and are always looking for new and better ways to achieve this goal. To that end we recently added a new piece of equipment to our arsenal, the Spectraflash spectrophotometer. The spectrophotometer incorporates the latest “best in class” technology, to deliver an unprecedented and unparalleled combination of features and benefits for measuring color.

With this piece of equipment we can ensure that you will get the color you are looking for the first time we print your project and every time after that, whether it’s next week or five years from now.

We take the color sample that you supply us with, or the PMS Number that you ask for, and run it through the meter. Once we have the values it supplies us with, it is stored in the machine for future reference and we are ready to mix the ink color. After mixing the color we pull an ink swatch and check it with the meter to make sure that it is correct. Even though it may be a perfect match there are many other variables, the mesh, the heaviness of the ink lay down, the substrate, the substrate top coating, etc., which could change the color. So we pull the first few printed pieces and run them back through the meter to make sure that everything is as it should be.

It is a painstaking process, but well worth the time and effort to assure that our customers receive exactly what they are looking for.
