Back in 1999 a large Backhoe manufacturer moved to Georgia. Label
Source met with their purchasing, quality control, and engineering
department heads about the label and decal problems they were having.
During this meeting it was determined that the biggest concerns
was the guarantee that their manufacturing line wouldn’t be
shut down due to the lack of one little decal and the desire to
reduce their cost.
After long discussions with engineering and quality control, Label
Source submitted a plan of action, which resulted in two kits, one
for the assembly line and one for the finishing line. Putting the
decals on sheets guaranteed that the decals would be there for productions.
The greatest benefit from this approach is that the number of labels
now on the production lines could be dramatically reduced up to
80%. The results are reduced product and administrative cost, faster
line set-up and no line stoppages for out of stock labels.
We made sure that all the decals met ANSI Z535 Safety Product Standards.
Since the decals would be going on a variety of surfaces, plastic,
painted metal, glass, and rubber, lots of testing went into finding
the correct adhesive which would work on all these surfaces. With
the help of 3M and Flexcon, parts were sent to the lab for testing
and it was determined that a new adhesive would be formulated exclusively
for these applications.
After four years and zero rejections Label Source has received
many Quality Awards from this client.
